We have had this mop for a few years now, and with a bit of thought it works just fine. As the man in the house, for some reason I am in charge of the steam mop. However, I do know when it is working, and when a floor is clean - unlike most men! But being a bloke, I can't resist fiddling, so I add a bit of tea tree to the water (no problem so far), and always dampen the mat. I find that bone dry is not as effective. When we lived in Perth, dirty water blocking the fine outlet was always a problem, but now in Tas on pure rainwater we have no problems.

The removable tank is a good idea. For the price, this is a good mop. I bought the original SC2000 mop and it lasted 10 years. Very happy with it but a bit bulky. The new model SC5000 seemed lighter and easier to use so bought that instead. Expected it to last a long time like the first but guess what?

Not long after buying it, about 5 months or so, it stopped producing steam. I only use it once a month so wasn't happy. I took it to the service centre who said it was faulty and replaced it with another one. This one has lasted 3 years which is very disappointing. The water tank is on the handle up the top. The water has to find its way down through the hole which is tiny. It is very hard to get the handle part once in place to use the little pin for unblocking the hole, but the hole didn't appear blocked when I tried to do that the other day, so then I see the water is hardly going down in the tank and still had some left when I finished trying to mop the floor.
